Position Overview: Develop strategically important products for consumable supplies business. Solve technical problems of high complexities related to development of consumable supplies. Provide timely technical support to the consumable supplies business by developing new supplies, testing and improving current supplies, and assist with quality improvements in consumable supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead and manage projects involving product developments of high complexities in a cross-functional environment

  • Develop innovative consumable supplies products for plastic card and government document personalization in a fast paced environment

  • Independently lead and manage technical efforts for continuation support for consumable supplies

  • Conduct qualification testing and performance evaluation of the card personalization supplies on various central issuance and desktop hardware platforms

  • Work with suppliers to develop and qualify printing consumable supplies

  • Conduct experiments and analyze data

  • Conduct card durability tests

  • Perform failure analysis for plastic card solutions

  • Write technical reportand communicate project status to project teams and relevant business leaders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Materials Science

  • Proficient in disciplined product development & experienced in phase gate development process.

  • 10+ years of experience in product development including one of more of the following: printable materials development, inkjet printing technology, polymeric formulations, formulation of coatings and adhesives, ink formulation, film coating and converting

  • Demonstrated understanding of UV-cured, solvent-based, and aqueous chemistries for ink, coating, and adhesive formulations

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment & demonstrated capability of managing multiple development projects simultaneously

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 15%

  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master or Ph.D in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Materials Science

  • Proven track record in development of printing materials and systems

  • Experience in card personalization processes

  • Experience in laser marking or engraving technologies

  • Experience in inkjet printing technologies

  • Experience in retransfer printing processes

  • Experience with color management processes

  • Experience in product scale up into manufacturing processes; comfortable with statistical tools and quality processes

  • Proven record of teamwork and collaboration with project team members

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on problems of moderate scope

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
